As a third culture kid, Nate has lived and studied in four different countries by the time he was 20 – Ireland, South Africa, Brazil, and the USA. He has been working in the life science industry in business development for over 25 years on both the pharma/biotech sponsor and CRO side. He is also a writer and public speaker at institutions such as FDA CBER, FalconX, Harvard, Duke, and The Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business. In March, 2021 Nate was selected to be the “Spotlight Speaker” for Johns Hopkins University on the Covid-19 pandemic and co-lectured with Dr. Peter Marks at FDA CBER.

Nate was instrumental as a first responder during the Ebola epidemic in Liberia (operating from the US) in 2014, working side by side remotely with the Assistant Ministry of Health to procure ZMAPP and ulnar gloves for local hospitals. Having been raised in the first and third worlds, Nate’s mission is to bridge the gap in health inequities through technology. Between 2003-2024, he was the deal architect for multiple global deals, from the bio manufacturing scaling of Keytruda for the Chinese market at the Dublin Swords site for MERCK, to selling the scheduling software for Novartis Morris Plains Site for Kyrmiah to selling a Phase 3 study for Humanigen’s Lenzilumab for Covid-19 and multiple Phase 1-IV studies in between. He is an expert in both interventional, hybrid, and non interventional clinical research. He received his Bachelor’s degree Phi Beta Kappa from The University of California at Berkeley and was a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar at Trinity College, Dublin from 1998-1999, where he received an M.Phil. degree. He also holds a Master in Public Policy (M.P.P.) from The UCLA Luskin School and a Master in Public Health (M.P.H.) in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. At Hopkins, Nate was accepted into the first MPH Mentoring Program and was formally mentored by Dr. Bob Carr, Senior Vice President & Corporate Medical Director at GlaxoSmithKline in Philadelphia with a career spanning 25 years and Rogerio Ribeiro, Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets & Asia Pacific, GSK in Jacarepaguá, Rio de Janeiro.
