Christy has served as Executive Director of Day One since 2007, bringing extensive experience and a strong commitment to improving public health. Day One is a community-based nonprofit organization with a long history of providing effective, high-quality, and culturally sensitive public health education, intervention, and policy development.
Through its youth development programs, Day One helps young people build leadership skills, recognizes the contributions of active youth leaders, and equips teens with the education, strategies, and confidence to create positive change in their lives and communities. Its environmental prevention programs focus on community systems and work to improve public health, quality of life, and the environments in which residents live.
Day One also provides substance use prevention and control programs, tobacco prevention initiatives, and parenting programs that help families explore issues affecting their children, develop practical parenting skills, and connect with valuable resources and other parents. Its comprehensive approach addresses the health and well-being of the community as a whole.
